WYCUP opens annual scholarships for emerging leaders

November 15, 2023

The World Young Credit Union Professional Network (WYCUP), a network of the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU), opened the annual WYCUP scholarship for two exciting opportunities to advance leadership skills for emerging leaders in the credit union space during 2024.

The 2024 scholarship will award up to six (6) credit union professionals, who are 40 years of age and younger, the opportunity to choose between two all-expense paid education and networking events.

Up to three (3) scholars will join WYCUP at the Confederation of Caribbean Credit Unions Convention (CCCU) in St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean to discuss sustainable growth and development.

Up to three (3) scholars will join WYCUP at the World Credit Union Conference (WCUC) for joint WYCUP and Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN) events in Boston, MA, USA from July 21-24 to learn, network and engage with the largest gathering of credit union professionals in the world.

“I cannot thank the World Council of Credit Unions and the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Union’s staff enough for putting together this experience. The mix of both professional learning though the summit and then the hands-on emersion through the community visits made this experience feel like nothing was left out,” said Cooper Larson, the 2023 WYCUP scholar, who visited Sicredi Credit Union System in Brazil.

Along with the choice of two destination events, scholarship recipients will engage with their global peers during several virtual and in-person events throughout 2024 as WYCUP explores opportunities for greater collaboration on shared global credit union challenges.

The scholarship portal will close Dec. 15. Scholarship winners will be announced in January 2024.
