CFPB’s eRegulations Tool Now Includes Truth in Lending

The CFPB added Regulation Z (Truth in Lending) to the agency’s eRegulations tool in May.

July 1, 2014

The CFPB launched the web-based resource last October with the amended Regulation E (Electronic Fund Transfers).

The eRegulations tool is not an official legal edition of the Code of Federal Regulations or the Federal Register, and it does not replace the official versions of those publications. However, the tool does provide an “intuitive, easier-to-navigate” electronic version of lengthy and oft en complicated regulations.

According to the agency’s website, the eRegulations tool “makes regulations easy to find, read, and understand with features such as online official interpretations, highlighted defined terms, and a revision comparison view.”

In order to help lenders navigate changes to Regulation Z, eRegulations displays the currently effective version of the regulation, previous versions implemented on or after Dec. 30, 2011, and any planned versions that are not yet effective (but are published in the Federal Register). A new feature allows users to compare two versions of a regulation, and see the differences in the user’s Web browser.
