LEVERAGE consolidates 2 audit services groups

October 30, 2014

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., and TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (10/31/14)--A subsidiary of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates is merging its two audit service companies.

LEVERAGE, the league-owned entity, said that its Audit and Compliance Group and CU Audit and Compliance Group (CUACG) would merge to take the name of the latter. The move will form the largest firm of its kind in the southeast, with auditors spread across Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.

The firm said that the merger, which took effect Oct. 1, should reduce clients' confusion by offering a subsidiary with a single name.

CUACG, LEVERAGE said, will still offer multiple types of audits, member account verifications, U.S. Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) assessments, tax planning and 5300 Call Report filing assistance.

"What makes CUACG unique is that it serves only credit unions and is solely focused on providing value to its business partners," said LEVERAGE President/CEO Patrick La Pine. "The strong and unique relationships our staff has with the NCUA and state regulators, along with our current industry specific certifications, ensure that our staff brings credit unions relevant and timely insight."

The company said that the formerly separate audit companies have already performed more than 400 audits in five states between January and October.
