Gary Grinnell and Lisa Ginter, chairs of the NAFCU and CUNA Boards of Directors, respectively, spoke with CUToday to share insights into the proposed merger and address questions related to America’s Credit Unions.
CUNA joined the African-American Credit Union Coalition, Inclusiv, the National Association of Latino Credit Unions and Professionals, Leagues, and credit unions to offer suggestions on how NCUA can best support Minority Depository Institution (MDI) credit unions. NCUA proposed revisions to its interpretive ruling and policy statement on the MDI program at its June board meeting.
CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle sent a message to members after the vote on the proposed merger with NAFCU opened pledging that “America’s Credit Unions will serve you.” The member vote will be open until 5 p.m. ET Nov. 1.
NCUA, along with other federal financial regulators, will host an Ask the Regulators webinar to explain the revisions and additions to the Policy Statement on Prudent Commercial Real Estate Loan Accommodations and Workouts issued June 20. The webinar will be held Sept. 14 from 2-3:30 p.m. ET.
