CUNA joined other trade organizations this week to call on Senate leadership to ensure regulatory relief language remains in the conference committee version of the 2019 financial services and general government appropriations bill.

CUNA’s Corporate Governance Committee has announced the results of the District 3, Class A special election for the CUNA Board of Directors. Ron Smith, President of Enbright CU, Nashville, Tenn., has been elected to the board.
The Senate Banking Committee voted Thursday in favor of Kathy Kraninger’s nomination to become director of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. Kraninger currently serves in the Office of Management and Budget.

The Financial Accounting Standards Board officially issued its proposal making several CUNA-backed changes to its current expected credit loss standard, first agreed to at its July board meeting. Comments will be due Sept. 19.
