►The readers of Credit Union Magazine selected James Schenck, CEO of Pentagon Federal Credit Union, as the 2017 Credit Union Hero of the Year. He was honored during the 2017 America's Credit Union Conference in Las Vegas.

Each year, Credit Union Magazine honors some of the credit union movement's heroes: People who exemplify the movement’s philosophy of “people helping people” and have gone the extra mile to make a difference in their communities.
