Statement from CUNA’s Nussle on Passing of Former Rep. John Dingell

February 8, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, DC (February 8, 2019) — CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle issued the following statement on the passing of Former Rep. John Dingell.

“John Dingell was an icon of the House of Representatives and someone with whom I was proud to serve in Congress. He was a strong supporter of America’s credit unions, a supporter of the credit union tax status as well as legislation to restore credit unions’ ability to lend to small businesses. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Representative Debbie Dingell, and their family.”

Jim Nussle and John Dingell served together in the United States House of Representatives from 1991-2007.
