The number of credit union professionals learning through CUNA Professional Development Online (CPD Online) and CUNA Training Bundle has surged amid the COVID-19 pandemic. From November 2019 to March 2020, the number of courses completed through CPD Online increased 72%, and the number of individual users rose 41%. Concurrently, course registrations in CUNA Training Bundle jumped 265% from November 2019 to March of 2020, with a 141% increase in individual users.

Todd Spiczenski, chief products and services officer, explained, “We are seeing a strong increase in both new and returning users, demonstrating that credit unions are shifting gears to develop skills and knowledge as staff modify roles, cross-train and work remotely. Training is clearly a critical element as credit unions have needed to pivot quickly. The subject areas that we are seeing the most usage growth are compliance, financial health, HR and managing remotely."

“We’re glad to be helping credit unions meet the needs of their members during these uncertain times by providing relevant training,” said Marlo Foltz, vice president, blending learning at CUNA. “The rapid growth in the usage of our learning management system, CPD Online, highlights that credit union professionals are going above and beyond to adapt and serve members."

“We understand that working from home makes training more challenging,” said James Carrick, vice president of learning events at CUNA. “And we are dedicated to supporting credit union trainers as they build the essential knowledge of their team for today’s disruptive business landscape through the eSchools and webinars offered with CUNA Training Bundle.”
