Flood insurance, digital assets hearing this week

The Senate is in Washington, D.C. this week, and the House will conduct hearings but will not consider any legislation on the House floor.

The House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance will conduct a hearing Wednesday on reauthorization and reform of the National Flood Insurance Program.

Other hearings CUNA is engaged with this week include: 

  • Tuesday, noon ET: House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion hearing: “Diversity Includes Disability: Exploring Inequities in Financial Services for Persons with Disabilities, Including Those Newly Disabled Due to Long-Term COVID.”
  • Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. ET: Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Subcommittee On Housing, Transportation, And Community Development hearing: “Examining the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Housing Service."
  • Thursday, noon. ET: House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce hearing: “Legislative Hearing to Protect Consumers and Strengthen the Economy."
  • Thursday, noon ET: House Committee on Financial Services hearing: “Digital Assets and the Future of Finance: Examining the Benefits and Risks of a U.S. Central Bank Digital Currency.”
