Chris Lorence, executive director of CU Awareness, appeared on CU Broadcast to talk about the success of YourMoneyFurther.com program raising consumer awareness and consideration of credit unions.
“Over the full three years that this program has been out there and we’ve been able to move consideration 11 points,” said Lorence. “Since the last measure, which was October of 2021 to April of 2022, we’ve moved it another three points.”
The first portion of the program focused on refuting consumer myths that they cannot join a credit union, or that they're only local. Lorence stressed that the paid digital efforts do not advertise interest rates or sell a product but learn about credit unions.
“We were able to take both the knowledge form the digital campaign and the requests from credit unions and combine those into the next step of this program,” said Lorence.
