Montana's Credit Unions raise $25,000 for Shodair Children's Hospital

Ohio CUs raise $33K for CMN Hospitals

Montana’s Credit Unions (MCU) announced the successful relaunch of their Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) “Brawl of the Wild” football icon fundraiser benefiting Shodair Children’s Hospital (Shodair), Montana’s only Children’s Miracle Network hospital. Twenty-five credit unions from around the state participated in the fundraiser and donated $25,000 to Shodair.

In total, the Cats repeated their cross-state victory in our own contest with 8,655 icons sold in support of their team in comparison to 7,064 for the Griz. In addition to the icons sold in support of the Cats or the Griz, over $9,500 in cash contributions was donated by credit unions, their members, Shodair, and MCU.

MCU has accomplished its four-year goal — in just two years — of raising $50,000 to support Shodair’s Building Hope for Montana Families capital campaign. These funds will assist Shodair in constructing their new hospital in Helena, allowing them to provide access to care for all Montana families in need, and we’re committed to helping them provide that care.

“An essential part of the credit union philosophy is to give back to our community,” said Karen Smith, senior vice president and chief advocacy officer for MCU. “Shodair is a beacon of hope for so many families across the state and is a very deserving partner. We have been elated with our credit union and community participation and cannot wait to kick off the new year with more fun initiatives through CU4Kids.”
