CUNA Manager of State Outreach Tylik McMillan spoke Wednesday at the U.S. Department of Education to kick off Black History Month alongside Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, Rep. Jahana Hayes, D-Conn., and others.
“This event was to celebrate the resilience, innovation, and achievements of Black educators in the history of the United States, and it was an honor to participate,” McMillan said.
The event was hosted by the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans.
McMillan previously spoke at a White House event in January with Vice President Kamala Harris on financial access and inclusion for men of color.
