Credit unions remain focused on the people they serve, CUNA Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Federal Government Affairs Jason Stverak wrote to members of Congress Wednesday.
“As we finish up these last days in August, credit unions across the country remain focused on the people we serve and helping all people have the opportunity to achieve financial well-being,” he wrote. “Many credit unions and state credit union Leagues are holding legislative meetings back home, and still more are making plans to come visit Capitol Hill this fall.”
CUNA Board Chair—and CommunityAmerica Credit Union CEO—Lisa Ginter was featured in a video included with the message.
Ginter said financial services are undergoing lots of change with new technologies and companies, but credit unions’ dedication to their members remains consistent.
“When we do right by people, they will do right by us,” she said. “Our unwavering focus on people, not profits will continue to be the real difference-maker for credit unions, and more importantly, for the millions of members we collectively serve.”
