The House and Senate are in Washington, D.C., this week. The Senate will consider judicial nominations, while the House is expected to vote on a resolution of disapproval for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s section 1071 rule.
The Senate passed its resolution last month, which would void the 1071 rule via the Congressional Review Act. CUNA, the Cornerstone League, and Rally Credit Union also successfully challenged the rule in court, resulting in a nationwide injunction.
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Rohit Chopra will also testify before the House Financial Services Committee Wednesday and the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee Thursday.
