ICYMI: #CUYP campaign highlights future leaders

Young professionals (YPs) are vital to credit unions as the future leaders of the movement. In June, we highlighted young professionals who demonstrate the collaborative, engaged, and mission-focused mindsets that propel credit unions forward in their communities.

Our featured YPs share stories of their credit union journeys, the best career advice they’ve given and received, and more.

Some highlights from #CUYP:

  • Videos highlighting three YPs—YPTV as we call it—feature insightful career advice and thoughts on how credit unions’ people-helping-people philosophy align with YPs’ values.
  • How Hazelmae Overturf turned her love for education into a promising credit union career.
  • Why Sedric Brinson’s compassion drives his credit union success.
  •  The need for credit unions to be “sticky but flexible” to attract new leaders.
  • A podcast interview featuring a YP leader who improved her skill set to both increase her value and feed her passion.
  • Thoughts about emerging leaders from CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle.
