Inclusiv Executive Vice President Pablo DeFilippi (left) and UW Credit Union's Paul Kundert (middle) discuss the Juntos Avanzamos proclamation ceremony held at the Madison, Wis., credit union on Sept. 7.

A Juntos Avanzamos ceremony at UW Credit Union on Sept. 7 recognized the $5 billion asset Madison, Wis., credit union for its commitment to Hispanic, Latinx, and immigrant communities.

The process was nearly 20 years in the making, taking into account the changes the credit union has made to become inclusive, help consumers navigate the financial system, and provide safe, affordable, and relevant services.

“It takes effort to understand the barriers people face,” UW Credit Union CEO Paul Kundert says. “This is great validation and recognition of the work we’ve been doing.”

Speaking after the ceremony, Kundert, UW Consumer Lending Operations Assistant Manager Natalie Ponce, and Inclusiv Executive Vice President Pablo DeFilippi recognize the progress that’s been made while discussing the work that remains.

Watch now to hear them explain why credit unions believe in financial well-being for all, financial education, tailoring services to meet the needs of the community, and more.
